Masko in ChatGPT
The Masko plugin lets ChatGPT create mascots, animate a character you upload, build interactive canvases and integrate the assets into your app. It is in developer preview; availability depends on deployment and your ChatGPT workspace settings.
Connect your account
Choose Connect in ChatGPT, sign in on Masko, select your personal or team workspace, and approve; team authorization requires an owner or admin. Masko issues OAuth tokens, so you never paste an API key and ChatGPT never sees your password.
The connection stays tied to that workspace, even if you switch workspaces on the website; reconnect to choose another. Generation spends its Masko credits, separate from your ChatGPT subscription, so ask for the estimated cost first.
ChatGPT cannot buy credits. When the workspace runs out, it tells you what the job needs and what is left; add credits to that workspace in Billing on masko.ai. Only the team owner manages team billing.
To add it yourself, create a custom MCP server at chatgpt.com/plugins with the URL https://masko.ai/api/mcp and OAuth; the step-by-step setup lists each button. ChatGPT's published metadata identifies the client, so no client secret is needed. The same server works in Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Claude and VS Code: see MCP server.
Try a workflow
- “Create a friendly mascot for my reading app.”
- “Animate this uploaded mascot waving hello.”
- “Make my mascot idle, celebrate when a lesson finishes, then return to idle.”
- “Help me integrate this animation into my React website.”
Uploads accept PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF up to 10 MB and are imported into your Masko workspace. Generation returns a job first, and the plugin checks it until the asset is ready; a pending job never needs a new generation.
Interactive canvases
The plugin can create and edit a canvas, validate it, estimate cost, generate missing media within an approved credit ceiling, and create an immutable playable release. A release does not publish a Marketplace listing or activate a mascot on your computer. App events must map to inputs the target runtime supports; see build a canvas.
Platform-specific integration
The plugin installs the Masko player for your platform. A single looping clip plays from its hosted files (play one animation); for a canvas release, the plugin connects your app's events to the player with set and fire (play a canvas).
New mascots from the plugin start with public CDN hosting off, and the plugin explains what becomes public before publishing. Private preview and release URLs expire, so a production app needs your backend to fetch fresh delivery. Standalone uploads belong to your account and can be reused when creating a mascot in any selected workspace.
Manage access
Disconnect under Connected apps in Developers → MCP. This stops future requests from that connection but does not delete mascots or cancel accepted generation. API keys and signed-in computers are managed separately.
Support
Email paul@masko.ai with the job or request ID, never a password, API key, authorization code or token. For an interrupted generation, check your existing jobs before requesting another paid output.
